Who told you that there's no way to climb on an island?
Though Kefalonia is a consider a small island, it has one of the taller mountains in the western Greece. Its name is Ainos and its height is 1620m.
Its top is almost always covered with clouds.
    In winter the landscape is white, in summer deep green, and both offer the visitor a place of soul-uplifting serenity.
     The main characteristic of the mountain that makes it famous all over the world, is the unique kind of black fir tree, that grows on the hillsides and it is protected into one of the prettier National Parks of Greece.
    Walk along the endless natural roads of the mountain and see the wild horses that live there and many beautiful, exotic and colorful plants.
    Take a rest at the small wooden houses of the forest, and if you like the EXTREME way of living try climbing the difficult to reach west side of the mountain.
